for a changing world
Used for checking the correct amount of acid per cell in the finished battery (after final fill operation) this station, manufactured entirely from EN1.4404 (AISI 316L) and other acid resistant parts is autonomous in operation. It can comfortably test and reject 6 batteries per minute with its single head and requires only 5 minutes to change over between battery types thanks to an simple indexing comb located on the head.
Using a set of simple non-drip concave rods, the conveyor carefully positions a battery at the test head using the inverter controlled PP conveyor belt so as to avoid excess ‘waves’ inside the cells (which can cause erroneous readings). Once in position the motorised head lowers into the upper position, and checks that all sensors read zero using the battery voltage (12VDC). If the test is successful the head moves to the lower positon (adjustable from 1-5mm) and checks that all cells read positive (acid present). If the test is successful, the battery is released down line. If the test fails, the battery is expelled from the line for further analysis by the operator or QC personnel.
